Sahara Utsarga Welfare Society is a dedicated non-profit, non-governmental development organization that has remained steadfast in its commitment to uplifting the underprivileged populations of West Bengal, India, by fostering a culture of active participation and social empowerment. Tracing its origins back to 1993 in the New Barrackpur-Madhyamgram locality, the society initially emerged to address local community needs and has since evolved into a robust force for regional progress. Over the decades, it has strategically expanded its reach to combat the significant developmental deficits and environmental challenges found across various districts of West Bengal, navigating the complex “vagaries of nature” that often disrupt local stability. Today, the organization manages a diverse portfolio of impactful initiatives spanning essential sectors such as healthcare, education, climate change resilience, and sustainable livelihoods, and on large-scale awareness campaigns designed to drive long-term systemic change throughout the state.
