CASE STUDY-4 : WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS WAY

Preeti Singh, now 33 years from Birbhum belongs to a middle class family. Her husband Santosh, an e-rickshaw driver was earning 200-250 per day. Few years back he suffered from gastroenterological problem and savings exhausted in treatment. Her husband forced to sell his rickshaw for treatment.  Situation got reversed. With having no other option, Preeti joined SHG and avail loan from SUWS and started a grocery shop in her own home. First year the profit was well and fortunately her husband gets better. After having 2nd loan she purchase an e-rickshaw for her husband. Preeti is happy with her grocery shop as the local people know that most of the inventories they can get from her shop. Preeti tied up with local supplier and they provide necessary items also on loan basis that she repays once a week.  Her son is studying in class VI and with coaching support he is doing well.
